Is Zimbabwe safe? +

Yes. Zimbabwe is one of Africa’s most established tourism destinations and welcomes visitors from around the world each year. We handle transportation, accommodations, and logistics so you can focus on enjoying the experience.

Can I travel alone? +

Absolutely. Many travelers join our Insight Trips on their own. The experience is intentionally designed to foster connection, and solo travelers often leave with new friendships and a shared sense of adventure.

Is this a mission trip? +

Not in the traditional sense. MATTER Insight Trips combine adventure, cultural experiences, and opportunities to learn about projects and initiatives creating positive change across Zimbabwe. You’ll experience iconic destinations like Victoria Falls and world-class safari while also gaining a deeper understanding of the people, ideas, and communities shaping the country’s future.

What does the trip fee include? +

Your trip fee covers nearly everything once you arrive in Zimbabwe, including:

Airport pickup and drop-off
Ground transportation
Accommodations
Safari experiences and park fees
Most meals
Guided excursions and activities
MATTER hosts and local guides

International airfare, visas, travel insurance, gratuities, and personal purchases are not included unless otherwise noted.

Do I book my own flights? +

Yes. Travelers are responsible for booking their international airfare. Our team will provide recommended flight routes and arrival details to help ensure a smooth travel experience.

Can my spouse or family members come? +

Yes. Couples are welcome, and many travelers choose to experience Zimbabwe together. Depending on the specific trip and age of children, families may also be able to participate. Contact our team to discuss the best fit for your group.

How physically demanding is the trip? +

Most activities are considered light to moderate. Travelers should be comfortable walking, getting in and out of vehicles, and spending time outdoors. Safari drives, project visits, and sightseeing are designed to be accessible for most participants. If you have mobility concerns, please contact us and we’ll discuss accommodations.

What kind of accommodations can I expect? +

We stay in comfortable, highly-rated lodges, guesthouses, and safari accommodations selected for their hospitality, safety, and experience.

Depending on the trip, both standard and luxury accommodation options may be available. Expect clean, comfortable rooms, welcoming service, and memorable settings that enhance your time in Zimbabwe.

Will I have free time? +

Yes. While each trip includes a thoughtfully planned itinerary, there is also time built in for relaxing, shopping, exploring local markets, enjoying your accommodations, and taking in the experience at your own pace.

Can I extend my trip for personal travel? +

Absolutely. Many travelers choose to arrive early, stay longer, or add destinations such as Botswana, Zambia, or South Africa before or after their Insight Trip. Our team can provide guidance on coordinating your travel plans.

What is the typical group size? +

Most Insight Trips range from approximately 6 to 12 travelers. Smaller groups create more meaningful experiences, greater flexibility, and opportunities for deeper conversations throughout the journey.
