MATTER Moments: June 2026

MATTERbox: Chicago Bulls Impact Day

When people come together to serve, impact multiplies.

MATTER was honored to be part of the Chicago Bulls’ first-ever Bulls Impact Day, an all-staff volunteer experience created to give back to the Chicago community.

As part of the day, 60 Bulls staff came together on site to pack 2,400 Snack Packs for kids facing food insecurity. The packs were donated to New Life Centers food pantries, serving the neighborhoods around the United Center and impacting kids in the community the Bulls call home.

And they did it Bulls style.

Through a mini MATTERbox Madness experience, staff broke into eight teams and packed team against team, bringing energy, connection, and a little friendly competition to a day of purpose.Every kit packed was more than supplies in a box. It was a message.

You are seen.
You are supported.
You matter.

That is the power of a MATTERbox Packing Event. It brings people together around a simple act of service and sends hope directly into the hands of those who need it most.

Your organization can do the same.

The Chaya Project

Check out the highlights from the 2026 Chaya Insight Trip!

2026 Chaya Trip Highlights
Watch the Chaya Insight Trip highlight video and experience just a small bit of the personal impact trip participants gained! As the visionary of the Chaya Project, Sandi Young, states, “There is nothing that deepens a relationship like going to a place like Africa where everything you feel is much more visceral. It’s just from head to toe. So every experience is just amplified!”

We’d invite you to join us for future Insight Trips where you can see these impactful projects, like the Chaya Project, firsthand.

Chicken Feed Study
Our local leader Ruth has officially kicked off a chicken feed study using chaya, alongside Chrissie, who’s joined her all the way from New Zealand to help run the study and collect data!

Chaya is already known as a nutrient-dense powerhouse for humans, but can it also lead to healthier, more productive chickens? Over the next six weeks, Ruth and Chrissie will be tracking everything from behavior, growth, egg-laying frequency, egg size, and more.

This is happening right now at Ruth’s farm in Zimbabwe, and it’s a huge step forward for the Chaya Project.

MATTER Education: MCRI Expansion Ribbon Cutting

You don’t often get the chance to double your impact overnight.

But that’s exactly what happened this month in Zimbabwe.

The MATTER Career Readiness Institute, our one-of-a-kind skills development center, has expanded to more than twice its original size. That means more than 50 young adults each year can gain the training, mentorship, and real-world experience needed to launch careers in technology without leaving Zimbabwe in search of opportunity.

The challenge is real. Too many of Zimbabwe’s brightest young people are forced to leave home to find meaningful work. The MATTER Career Readiness Institute creates a different path. One that helps growing U.S. companies access talented team members while helping Zimbabwe retain the next generation of leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs.

This is transformation.

This is game-changing work.

A stronger future for Zimbabwe. And another step toward proving that talent is everywhere, even when opportunity isn’t.
