MATTER 360, an “easy button” medical supply donation program operated by MATTER, a Minnesota-based global nonprofit, enables U.S. hospitals, clinics, and medical manufacturers to donate excess and expired medical supplies and equipment for redistribution to underserved communities worldwide, for remarketing, or for recycling.
MATTER 360 accepts nearly any non-hazardous medical item, arranges free pickup, and provides tax-deduction receipts, diverting medical waste from landfills while improving access to healthcare globally.

MATTER accepts almost any donation of medical equipment or supplies, from hospitals, clinics, medical manufacturers, distribution centers, and medical professionals, including expired items. However, we cannot accept bulk donations of liquids such as hand sanitizer, hazardous materials, expired PPE, or donations from the general public or individuals. How MATTER 360 Works: Four Simple Steps!
1. Submit the short donation interest form on the MATTER 360 website (matter.ngo/matter360/partner-with-matter-360/).
2. A MATTER team member contacts your organization to confirm donation details and arrange pickup logistics.
3. Box and palletize your donation. MATTER arranges a convenient pickup from your facility.
4. Receive your tax-deduction receipt. MATTER handles all redistribution, remarketing, or recycling.

In the U.S. alone, hospitals create non-hazardous medical waste in excess of an estimated five million tons every year.
MATTER is committed to attacking this staggering situation by (re)purposing medical equipment and supplies to aid people and improve environmental sustainability by reducing landfill medical waste. We accomplish this through the MATTER 360 Initiative, distributing to international hospital and clinic partners, through resales and recycling.

Are tax deductions available for medical supply donations through MATTER 360?
Yes. Tax deduction receipts are available to all organizations donating medical equipment or supplies through MATTER 360. MATTER is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Where do donated medical supplies go?
Donated supplies are redistributed to international hospital and clinic partners, used in medical training schools, repurposed for disaster relief, remarketed to support MATTER’s operations, or recycled. In 2025, MATTER repurposed more than 7.7 million pounds of donated medical items.
