As a tourist town, most of the business and activity in Victoria Falls are geared toward tourists. The people living in Victoria Falls, especially the youth, have little to call their own. That’s about to change with the development of Samkele Park.  

“Samkele” is a Ndebele word which means “Welcome.” It’s the perfect name for the community center envisioned to be built in Victoria Falls – for the people of Victoria Falls. The purpose of the community center will be to promote integration & community mixing; to provide a facility for holistic approach to mental & physical well-being; to provide a safe space for all; and to demonstrate that Victoria Falls can be a place for community first, not just tourism first.
