MATTER Moments: November 2025

The Chaya Project

Chaya KPI Update November 2025

On October 25, 2025, Matetsi Secondary School turned a busy day into a meaningful one when 520 students helped launch the Chaya Nutritional Education program on their campus, planting 500 chaya trees. The idea is simple and smart—bring chaya, a nutrient-rich leafy vegetable, into school meals while teaching why it matters. Teachers rolled out a lively project to explain chaya’s benefits, and both students and staff learned safe food-handling skills, including how to cook the leaves properly to remove toxins. To make it come to life, the school started a chaya garden, giving students hands-on experience with sustainable growing. Put together, this program boosts nutrition, builds practical skills, and shows how food, health, and the environment fit together.

This new Chaya video tells the story of what’s happening in Zimbabwe and how one simple plant is helping families fight malnutrition to build a future that lasts. Please watch and share this video with others who might be interested in learning more about our Chaya initiative.

MATTERbox

Tradition Capital Bank recently held it’s own MATTERbox Madness competition! This annual event provides a great opportunity for employees to get together, have some competitive fun across departments, and make a difference by packing meals. This year, 144 employees took part in the competition, packing 4,000 MATTERbox Snack Packs.

Cory Gregory, Director of Generosity at Tradition commented, “MATTERbox Madness has become one of our most beloved employee events at Tradition Capital Bank! We love supporting the work of MATTER through this event and making a tangible difference in our community through the snack packs.”

Thank you, Traditional Capital Bank, for your long partnership with MATTER!

Education

We’re proud to share that nafda Lebanon has partnered with MATTER® to bring innovation-based education to even more communities across the country! Together, we’re launching four new Innovation Hubs in schools in Lebanon—dynamic spaces that will empower both students and teachers to think creatively, collaborate, and lead change in their communities.

This exciting expansion builds on MATTER’s growing global network, now active in eight countries, where MATTER® Innovation Hubs powered by Jamf are training thousands of students through a kinder-to-career model. This past week, our teachers joined peers from Uganda with our partner Malayaka House, at the Matter Career Readiness Institute, diving into cross-cultural learning and exploring TEAL+ education methods that inspire hands-on innovation and real-world problem solving.

Thank you to all who have spread the You Matter belief and made this education opportunity available to thousands of children around the world.
